Higashikata Yuhei (東方悠平) was born in Sapporo, 1982, current lives in Hachinohe, Japan. He creates humorous installations using everyday items, video, photos, and so on. The fictional stories created through research form the basis for his art practice. He has been active in Southeast Asia, and in 2021 he received a grant from the Japanese government to stay in Vietnam for one year. And He is also a member of the Tokyo-based Ongoing collective. His major exhibitions include AOMORI GOKAN Art Fes 2024 Enjoy! Art Farm!! (Hachinohe City Museum, 2024), Welcome to the Tokyo Banana Club (Art Center Ongoing, 2024).
