Lê Thuận Uyên là giám tuyển tại Hà Nội. Cô hiện là Giám đốc nghệ thuật của The Outpost – một tổ chức tư nhân cam kết sưu tầm, trưng bày và thảo luận về nghệ thuật đương đại tại Việt Nam. Vốn được đào tạo về khoa học chính trị, Uyên quan tâm đến lịch sử thay thế, những câu chuyện cá nhân vắng mặt trong các trần thuật chính thức, bị gạt sang bên lề hoặc không mong muốn. Hoạt động của cô cũng liên quan đến việc điều tra các hình thức và ý tưởng trong bối cảnh xã hội và truyền thống thẩm mỹ của Việt Nam. Cô thường làm việc chặt chẽ với các nghệ sĩ, tìm cách giải nén các khớp nối nghệ thuật và kích thích các cuộc điều tra sáng tạo, mang tính phê phán.

Cô là giám tuyển thường trú tại Art in General (NYC) từ tháng 4 đến tháng 8 năm 2017 thông qua học bổng với Hội đồng Văn hóa Châu Á. Uyên đã làm việc với nhiều nghệ sĩ và tổ chức, cung cấp hỗ trợ hành chính và lập trình cho các không gian bao gồm Nhà Sàn Collective, Sàn Art, Trung tâm Nghệ thuật Đương đại The Factory, APD (Trung tâm Bảo trợ và Phát triển Nghệ thuật), Nguyễn Art Foundation.
Lê Thuận Uyên is a curator based in Hanoi. She is currently the Artistic Director of The Outpost – a private organisation committed to the collection, presentation, and discussion of contemporary art in Vietnam. Informed by her former training in politicial science, Uyen is interested in alternative histories, personal narratives that are rendered absent, sidelined or undesirable by the official record. Her practice is also concerned with the investigations of forms and ideas within the social context and aesthetic traditions of Vietnam. She often works with artists in close collaboration, seeking to unpack artistic articulations and stimulate critical, creative enquiries.
Some of her past curatorial projects include: Fractured Times (The Outpost, Hanoi, 2022); And they die another death (Nguyễn Trinh Thi for Documenta fiffteen, 2022); Domestic Bliss (Ilham Gallery, KL, 2019); Gang of Five Chancing Modern (Hanoi, 2017); Sindikat Campursari (Jakarta, 2016); Embedded South(s) (co-curator, Sàn Art, online, 2016); Skylines With Flying People 3 (co-curator, Hanoi, 2015-17); Miền Méo Miệng (assistant curator, Bildmuseet Umea, 2015). She was a resident curator at Art in General (NYC) from April–August 2017 through a fellowship with the Asian Cultural Council. Over time, Uyên has worked with numerous artists and orgranisations, providing administrative and programming support for spaces including Nhà Sàn Collective, Sàn Art, The Factory Centre for Contemporary Art, APD (Centre for Art Patronage and Development), The Nguyen Art Foundation.
